Matthew Grinder holds a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Freed-Hardeman University and is in the process of completing requirements to obtain licensure in the state of Tennessee as a licensed professional counselor and mental health service provider, LPC/MHSP (temp). Matthew is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). He is a trained facilitator of the Prepare/Enrich assessment tool. Whether a couple has been married for several years or is in need of pre-marital counseling, the Prepare/Enrich assessment can serve as a powerful tool for you!  Prepare/Enrich will explore several areas of your relationship through a strength based approach to help you grow together. 

 

Matt serves the ReEnvision team as the Community Coordinator.  By maintaining positive connections with community leaders and organizations, he coordinates in-service meetings for our staff and provides opportunities for the therapy team to learn about community resources that are available.

Matt also has experience in university counseling centers as well as youth and family ministry. He has experience working with clients dealing with: anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, pornography/sex addiction, pre-marital/engagement counseling, grief and loss, stress, and spiritual concerns.  He is also trained to provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a modality in treatment. This is most commonly used to treat trauma or other ongoing issues that do not respond to traditional therapy methods.

 

Matt and his wife Lauren have been married since 2016.  They have a Golden Retriever named Chief.
